Question OT What do you guys think about the 2002 Sequoia?

A buddy of mine needs to get a truck that has seating for seven.
(he has three kids).

He has a QX4 now but needs something bigger.
He was looking at the Accura MDX but did not like the way that it drove (he said like a mini-van).

He will never be taking this off-road.

Well what are your guys thoughts?

MDX!
That thing has so many creature comforts! And a pretty cool diff lock too(and it really works). Ultra low emissions. Independant AC/heat front / rear.

Not for me (but my wife LOVES hers)!

Um, duh!!! What's wrong with a Disco series II?

Seating for 7, $35K.

The MDX isn't bad, but does it really seat 7? if so, do the last two people sit on the roof?

The Sequoia is like a big Xterra. It's a truck with lots of seats and there is no mistaking that. Works for me, but most people in the full size SUV market might be turned off by it.

Good suggestion...but after Kyle on XOC I can't even type DISCO w/out picturing the fool. Everytime I see one, I'll think of that lugnut.

hehe, I know what you mean! I love Discos too much to let someone like that ruin the taste. I'm pretty sure he only represents a small part of the Disco owner population.

It's not like he told anyone anything they didn't already know...he just had to be an ass about it. but then, i can be an ass too sometimes; especially, well, um, nevermind!

Why not a minivan?

If he never takes it off-road? Why not a minivan? Great gas mileage, more room, excellent saftey, smooth carlike ride, front wheel drive.

Not to mention half the cost of a Seqouia. Does he tow anything?

He hates mini-vans. I also suggested this but it is not an option.

depends on the van
I had a Nissan mini van ('87) it rocked, room for all my hell raising buddies, it had a built in fridge between the front seats, it could tow a trailer with the bikes on it and haul all the gear for a weeks worth of riding (mainly fuel ;-)

I rolled it down the freeway a few times :-( I still miss that van.

Wasn't that one of the ones that Nissan was trying to get off the roads because of a fire problem? Sucks you rolled it, but maybe you did Nissan a favor? If I absolutely had to, the only one I would drive is the Honda and it would have to an EX model in grey. Otherwise, forget it!
