Is bypass valve important for a CAI?
I heard my friend told me that I should get a bypass valve for my AEM cold air intake. He also said that I have to cut my AEM and insert that bypass valve in between. But then he said where I put the bypass valve makes a difference.
Should I get a bypass valve? If I do where's the best place to put the bypass valve? low towards the filter or higher up? My car's a '98 lude. Thanks for any advice

The only time a bypass valve will come into effect is when the air inlet is completely submerged in water. They are a waste of $$$ is you ask me. Just dont drive in water 6" or more . . . . .If you do intall it, place it close to the intake manifold.

i agree bypass valves are a waste of money, the intake has to be submerged in water for it to do anything, and dont go wide open throttle through huge puddles, I've never had any problems
