302 to a 351

I have a 95 5.0 and I was wandering if you guys could help me out. I am pretty good with bolt-ons and minor upgreades, but when it comes to interior engine upgrades I am lost. I was wandering if you can bore the 302 out to a 351. I am not even sure if bore is the correct procces or not. But if this is possible what would be the easiest way to do this, and id this a good way to spend my money or should I invest in other mods, such as cam, heads, and intake? Thanks guys and I hope you can clear this up for me!

Do the combo in the article above its not that expensive and fairly simple new heads, intake, and roller rockers=400hp of course the cam in the 92 HO is a little better than in the 95 but you're looking in a ballpark of 365-400p. And no you cannot bore a 302 to a 351 you can stroke a 302 to a 347 but its expensive and I wouldn't do it i'd recommend a supercharger over the 347 stroker, I think it would give better gains and be a little less expensive Vortech has superchargers fotr the 5.0L at good prices.

Thanks for your help. What is exactly the best way to go about doing those mods? I looked at the site that you included but haven't read it over completly yet. Would you recomend getting my stock heads bored out or ordering totaly new performance heads? Would I need to do anythign with the MAF or fuel delivery if I get these mods done? How long about would it take to complete these installations (saying I just ordered a new set of heads) so I kind of have an idea if I have someone install the mods for me?
Thanks again,

No, you cannot "bore" a 302 to a 351. The best you could do is stroke the motor to a 347, by increasing the stroke of the crankshaft. I'm a fan of stroker motors, so that's what I would do. Look at the combo in my sig. With the parts I have I'm making an estimated 350 HP at the flywheel. As for as "boring" the heads as you put it, no. You could have the heads milled for increased compression, and then ported to the max for the most air flow. But for the money you would spend on that, you could have a nice set of alum heads. If you want to make some decent power, a good place to start would be a quality set of alum heads, intake, a decent cam, and the regular bolt ons, TB, MAF, RR's etc.

Ok I will look into that. I read the above article posted and it sounded like it was a pretty good way to get some serious HP gains. I called the company and got a price on there heads and they said they were $1325. That seemed kind of steep to me, but for 100 HP that could be right. If you don't mind me asking how much about was your set up, with the cam, heads, RR, and intake? I am just trying to build this up kind of piece by piece, and don't really have the money right now to just buy everything at once so what would you suggest bet he order of what I get. The cam would be the most difficult to install so I would probably have to have someone install it for me. But I am not sure about the heads, and RR's they would be installed together to make things the easiest wouldn't they.

Thanks again,
