Considering your budget a B18B sounds good for you, just look for a 96+ engine (because they use the OBD2 ecu) and you also have to get the axles and shift linkages (and of course the auto tranny), I've seen B18Bs on ebay for less than 1000.

How about a B20?

Check out ebay.com but be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY (did I stress that enough yet?) VERY carefull. Do not believe the 1988 motor with 20k mile bullshit, it aint true.

Someone tells you expect to spend $200 in additional parts for filters, broken this, broke that... expect to spend twice that, $400.

Same goes with ThePartsTrader.com - believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see. This is why I love my new engine supplier, im only a drive away to hand pick the motors I want. So theres no surprises an no "Oh that must have gotten broke during shipping" bologna!

Well i went to my friends work place. Its a new performance shop in town. I went their to ask him what price he can give me on a b18b complete kit. He called me later and told me 750$$ complete(engine, tranny, ecy, distributor etc.). So i finally found my engine. . Then installation is 250$ and the mount kits. But i have a question about the mount kits. I saw on a website that all you need is a rear tranmission mount from a 99 civic si for my 96 civic. Anyone know if its true?

$750 BUCKS?! Man, that's an awesome price. I've been wanting a b16, but they're at usually around $2000 for a complete swap. I have no money right now, so maybe a b18 is a better choice. It has more torque, anyway, and it's better for boost applications.

No, what about it? Also, do you know anything about D-series engines? I know they don't have as much power, but I heard they're dirt-cheap.

I read on a website that u could use my mount kits from my car and a rear 99 civic si kit to put the b18b into it. But ya the d series are really cheap in price. GO to ebay u can find them for probably around 400$$.

I'm in love with my B16B. I wouldn't want any other engine

Of course, mine was $4000 off www.inlinefour.com so I guess you can't afford that. It came with EVERYTHING though...
