Get yourself some forged internals. Put a turbo or stroker kit on the 5sfe. Take some weight out. The car will be pretty quick after all that. If you don't wanna spend that much. You can get a nice header off of hotshot headers. Get a 2 1/4 exhaust system with a freeflow muffler and no cats. Get a nice intake. And you will have a gutsy car, but it still will not be impressive. Good luck,

Re: I have a 1990 celica gt-s, im rebuilding I need suggestions, and what kinda engine?

its alot harder than just
"swapping the trannys"

have yhou ever done a auto to manual conversion? not fun
new tranny
drill holes in firewall to acomidate new lines
get the ENTIRE clutch assembly, pedal, master cylendar, slave cylendar, and brake booster
get a manual rediator(yes celicas have designagted radiators)
shange out the wiering harness and ecu for a manual one
the countless hours of work involved as well as hooking all the clutch lines up

its not easy and will probably cost you at least $1500 for the whole thing

sell your auto, and buy a manual
