94 Keyless programming instructions
I just bought a 94 Pontiac Grand Prix which had the remote for the keyless entry missing, I have located a remote but do not know how to program it.
Anyone have any idea on what I have to do to program the remote? Thank you! |

You might try this. I tried it on my 92 but it didn't work. I think something is wrong with the receiver.
1. Open trunk lid. Remove right side rear compartment trim. Using a jumper wire with alligator clips ground transmitter program wire terminal. Door locks will lock and unlock, indicating receiver is in program mode. 2. Depress and hold any button on one transmitter. Door locks and truck lid release should activate in about 2 seconds. First transmitter is now programmed. Repeat this step using other transmitter. If only one transmitter is being used, disconnect jumper wire. |

Transmitter won't stay programmed
First of all, thanks for your help - it worked!! Until the next morning when the transmitter wouldn't work the locks, so I re-programmed it again which worked for about a minute then stopped - so I went & replaced the battery's in the transmitter & re-programmed again, but still it only worked for a couple of minutes & then no longer responded .
Anyone have any ideas? |

Sounds like the keyless entry module is going bad.. Some resoldering will fix that up.

I know for sure that on the older model GP's, the module is on the right side, under the rear window deck lid, so I would assume it is the same for the '94.. if not, it's under the driver's instrument panel.
Here are instructions on how to fix it: http://www.w-body.com/service/keyless-entry.html
