whats the difference between 205/40/16 and 225/50/16 sized tires???
is it width or rubber grade? |

205/40/16 = 205mm wide tread, 40mm tall sidewalls, and a 16in inner diameter
225/50/16 = 225mm... rubber grade is determined by letters, and you'd have to ask someone w/more knowledge than me to get the run down on that

i guess what i was asking is whats the difference between the 225 and the 205
also will the size of my rims effect the calibration of my spedometer? |

THE 40 DOES NOT MEAN IT HAS A 40MM SIDEWALL!!!!!!
IT MEANS THAT THE SIDEWALL HEIGHT IS EQUAL TO 40 PERCENT OF THE TIRE'S WIDTH!!!!
