question about trans/rear end when swapping

i got a v6 auto 91 bird if i wanna swap to a v8 what kind of trans/rear end do i need to get? can i take some off another bird?

Depends on the engine you are putting in there.

Friend of mine with an '89 firebird (originally at 305) dropped in an LT1 and T-56.

If you get an LT1 or LS1 then you'll want a T-56, or the auto (4LE60 or whatever the hell the initals are, lol).

The rear can stay the same, its the driveshaft you might think about. It shouldn't be a problem depending on some things, but you might need a different length driveshaft or something.
