Help! Possesed Car!

Okay, here is some weirdness maybe you can help me out with. I have a 1986 Toyota Carolla 5dr. Two nights ago I was out driving and everything worked. The next morning I go out to drive away and the following things don't work:
- Starter Motor
- Brake Lights
- Dash
- Radio
- Interior Fan
- Turn signals (but emergency blinkers work)
- Dome Light

Luckily I was up a hill so I popped the clutch, the car idled but not very well. So I guessed it was the battery and charged up the battery, the battery took a charge but after charging still nothing worked. I checked the fuse box and there was a fuse or relay missing called 'EFI Main" Somebody possibly broke in and took it. I popped the clutch again to move the car because it was illegally parked, during so I let it warm up, while I was warming it up I checked the stuff that didnt work and everything worked! Fan, Radio, Guages etc. After driving it around the block a couple of times I parked it, shut it off then tried to start it again and now the same items don't work.

Any ideas what's going on? My guess is its a loose connector somewhere, or the car is possessed.

i would definatly go with posessed cuz that sounds wierd, but my best guess would be to find out where in your car all those things are conected and check for a bad conection but whats really wierd is that your flashers worked and not the blinkers, that is really odd, but id look in a wiring diagram and see where they are all hooked up at. if that doesnt work call an exorcist. hope i was some help and good luck man

This looks like a loose ground connector (probably looking for a 2 or 4 gauge that came loose cuz of rust..).

To test the starter... use jumper cables from battery (-) & attach em to the body of the starter solenoid or heat shield (don't clip on to positive wires or s* I mean - sparks will fly ).
I usually run both cables to negative on battery and to 2 areas around the solenoid (heat shield on 4age, etc.) in case one of the areas is still rusty and doesn't have good contact.

Once u hook it up... try starting it.. if it turns over.. it's your ground...
Mine got loose about 1 year ago and it wouldn't start.. so aside from tightening the original cables back to the semi-rusty frame, I run a 4 gage cable directly to my solenoid from the battery ground (-).

Afterwards you have to find where the main ground wire is that failed..

That's my guess hope it helps

Figured it out! It was a loose wire on the battery. The battery is loose and moves around, so if you move it too far one way, the loose wire dissconnects. When I pushed the battery back to its proper position the car started right up and everything worked!

Thanks for your help guys!
