Is this a deal?

ok, my friend has a 95 delsol and his engine is giving him problems, so hes taking out a $5,000 loan and swapping a different engine in....he said i can take his d16z6 of him for 150 bucks......the engine has over 190,000 miles but looks mint....he said the timing is all fucked up and him and his buddys tryed putting in a new timiing belt and made is worse.....but i was wondering if 150 bucks is good deal for it, then i can rebuild it......is it worth it?........sorry for the long post.....and 1 more thing.....can someone post the thread on how to post a pic.....thanks

If you've seen the engine run, and know it runs good and doesnt smoke, its a good deal. if you havent seen it run, i would tell him $100.

thats a lot of miles, but the engine could still be good internally. wheni got my z6, it had over 140,000 and i took the head off, there was still perfect crosshatching on all the cylinders.

ive seen it run and ive been in it while its been on.....the engine seems really strong and still has some punch in it for 190,000 miles......but im saying i will most likely rebuild it at college and stuff like that, how was your z6 in your car?

i'd go for it....trans, ecu, everything? if so that's a hell of a deal....for less than a regular swap...you can rebuild that engine and have it run just as strong!

the timing is all fucked up, he put a new timing belt on and it made it worse, he proabably didnt put it on right, make sure all the valves are straight on not bent. kind of ify for a motor that doesnt run good

The tranny won't work for you cuz it is hydraulic....so unless u can sell it, it really won't do you any good.

However, the engine and ECu are prolly worth $150. but I also recommend what civickiller has: since you are getting a good, cheap deal on the motor, you should prolly spend a little time checking into it to make sure it is in good working order...don't be silly and just slap a $150 motor into your car...you'll most likely be sorry u did later

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now
