the radio is fairly easy to get out. first pop out the trim around the shifter. then pull on the peice that surounds the pocket in your dash.( it will come out hard the first time) then open the storage cubby on top and pull that straight out. then there will be 6 screws holding your radio, climate control, and pocket in. you will need a kit and a harness to put a new one in. also im assuming you got the premium sound system, if so you will need to take out the amplifier under the rear deck. i dont quite remember but the are 4 screws that hold that in, and they might be from the top. if you dont know what you are doing i do not recomend tring to bypass the amp yourself. take it somewhere besides best buy or circut city or any other chain store because they do shoty work.

I don't know if it's wise to put in so much new stuff to a new car, especially since you got the powertrain warranty. Do you know which of those stuff would void warranty and which wouldn't?

R tune does so almost everything he's looking at voids the warranty in one way or another. I would recommend not going with Nismo for some of those R tune things, you can get other parts that are just as good for nearly half the price, and they both void the warranty so that isn't an issue.

understanding about warranty...
Here's what you need to understand about warranty stuff. Unfortunately the provider of the warranty is in charge of the situation... regardless of what you think is legal.
You will have no case if you ever took them to court. First off, your court costs would be more expensive than paying for your repairs. Secondly, they have tons of lawyers and "Experts" to examine your engine and tell the court what damage your bolt-ons cost. Here's a true story to explain what can happen. Man puts on Cold Air Intake. 4 months later, engine blows. Takes car to dealership (not Nissan but applies to all). Dealer says warranty void due to modification. Man decides only course of action is to take car company to court. Man looses his court case... Company experts and examiners say that the added torque was more than transmission was designed for. As a result the faulty tranny caused undue stress on the engine and caused it to overheat and blow up. Man lost court case and had to pay $3000 in court fees plus $5000 to replace engine. Now, I am not telling you that you shouldn't mod your car. I think you should, and the more the merrier. What I am telling you is to be careful, and think twice about your interaction with Nissan. If they can avoid payment in any way, they will. A lot will depend on the service writer. The service writer can push things through on warranty for you if noone else sees what happened. You just have to get in good with them. |

who makes CAI for 2003 Sentra SE-R''s that would cost less than Nismo, but just as good? And how likely do you think it is for your engine to blow up after only just a CAI mod?

SentraStoner - anything that is aftermarket can and will void your warranty, the thing is that it only voids the part that it affects. If you get an intake and your maf blows, it won't be covered regardless if it's Nismo, AEM, etc. or if it was installed by the dealer itself. Now if you get an intake and your window switch goes out, then it will be covered. Who installs the part has no bearing at all on whether or not it will void the warranty, the only time this comes into effect is on S-tune Nismo parts, those can ONLY be installed by the dealer to have them not void the warranty. Of course the S-tune's don't really void any of the warranty anyway, I mean what can a new exhaust screw up?

yes every one of those will void a part of the warranty, but in order for it to not be covered, the dealership (legally) has to prove that your aftermarket part caused the problem. And please stay away from Stillen performance parts, I can't stress that enough....but from what I hear the body stuff is OK
