well first of all good luck with converting it to rwd. hope u have some really deep pockets. and as far as making it faster i would suggest boosting it then.

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

HAHAHA, might as well sell it and use the 7-8k on another car with WAY more potential. You would be talking about at least 6-7k in mods just converting it to rwd, much more to make it "faster". here's a tip, sell it when u get ur hands on it for every penny its worth and find a nice 3kgt, camaro, or SOMETHING w/ more potential than a grocery getter like a cavalier. owning my own 03 automatic cavy, the second the title is in my hands, its trade in time!!!

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

My 03 suits me just fine. The only thing it needs (for my use) for improvements is better tires and suspension parts. Anything faster will just cost insurance and traffic fine money.

If you want RWD and manual, go buy one. You're wasting time and money trying to turn the Cav into something it never was.

I can live with 35 mpg. As long as it can keep up with traffic and get out of its own way, it works for me.

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

Yep, 03's rock. Hate to have to drive an automatic tho, cant imagine how boring that would be. But yeah, save your money for a car with more potential. Once mine hits 50,000 miles, i'm gonna try to sell it. By then, i'll have some money saved up to put into whatever I choose to buy. =D Btw, that rear-wheel idea.... lol.

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

yeah u know a rwd cavy would be something way different, but its going to end up costing a shit load of money. not worth it. like everyone else said if u want a rwd and manual sell the cavy and get something that has that. i would go with a mustang or camaro.

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

Enough said. Converting cavy to rwd? NEGATIVE. Unless you have a crap load of money that you can waste on it, and if you plan on keeping it a LONG time and being completely devoted to it.....or you could just get married and have the same thing.

Hmm thats funny, according to your profile:

Date of Birth:
December 4th, 1958
Age:
47

And

Vehicles Owned by nick200260804

* 1998 Ford Explorer
* 1999 Lincoln Continental
* 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada

Maybe its me, but it seems a bit odd that your 70+ year old "pops" just got an 03 Cavy, and you are excited about the possibility that it "probably be my first car", even though you currently own three.

What else confuses me is how you are able to afford three cars with no job?

Occupation:
none

Care to explain?

LOL! I bet this guy doesn't even know the difference between FWD and RWD, he just heard someone say that RWD is better and now thinks so.

Re: so my pops just got a 2003 Cavalier

Theres nothing wrong with that 03. It has an ecotec engine and 4 speed automatic, its a nice car. Depends how much ur willing to spend on it i guess, you could get a body kit and a few bolt on mods like WAI, Header, Exhaust etc. Will boost ur HP a little bit if thats all you want, then the body kit will make er look nice. Good luck
