2000 Civic -- couple of Qs

Hey,
I just got a 2000 Civic SE and I am planning on doing a couple of things to it. (nothing major). I will list all the thing I want to do and would like some suggestions and comments.

#1- Paint all black moldings/mirrors/aroundliscenceplate/doorhandles to silver (match the body of the car)
Question: Can the black moldings...etc be painting?? Will it look good?
#2- Remove "Civic" and "SE" emblems, fill holes and paint over.
Question: What should I fill the holes with and will the spray can of touch up paint work, or should i have it painted professionally?
#3- Replaced Honda "H" Emblems to the red "H".
Question: I was searching ebay and found a ton of these, some say that you can attach w/ double sided tape. Are these bad quality ones? I would think I should get ones that have pins to go into holes like current manufacturer ones?? Not sure???

Please let me know, Thanks guys!

1.) What the fuck is an SE? Do you mean Si?

2.) The "Civic" and "Si" emblems don't go through the body, they are just stickers. You can pry them off with a flathead wrapped in a towel to prevent scratching.

3.) The stock H emblems each have two pins poking through the body. Aftermarket ones come with these two pins, but are too big for the holes (go figure) and need chiselled off to make them just a sticker. Two sided tape emblems sound pretty ghetto fab to me, just go to a store and buy them for ~$40/pair.

In canada there's a SE its between the *X and the Si/R Editions. Nothing that great. Mine is actually a "Grand Prix - Special Edition" Comes stock with 15" rims, cd+tape (back in 2000), mid range spoiler...etc

Oh... Canadadians
Do yourself a favor and don't paint any of the plastic moldings on the exterior. After a few months you'll be completely tired of it, even IF you do a good job. Oh yeah and rocks will ding the hell out of it anyways. Just leave them black man.

Buy aftermarket ones, paint will seriously look nasty. If you do it you will be like every cheap mexican ride out there looking for the easy way out.

I disagee with it not being able to be painted and maintained in good condition for a long period of time. I had mines done at a shop back in April of 02 and it still looks the same as the day it was done everytime I wash my car so I believe it all depends on the shop.

I agree with 91teg/99ex my buddy has a cavalere he did that to by a body shop and you would never be able to tell it was done really. And for the emblems use a blow dryer to losen the adhesive and peel the emblem off. A screw driver will scratch the hell out of it and with a towel you will never be able to get under it.

Ahhh, thanks for replying
I removed the emblems with a hairdryer and some fishing wire and then just rubbed off the glue with some gas and a soft rag.
The paint I haven't done yet... the first quote I got was $500!!!
How much am I looking to spend on this??
