thinning tamiya acrylic for airbrush

just a quick one. how much should i be thinning tamiya acrylics for an airbrush. i have heard something like 10 parts paint to 2 parts thinner, but im not sure.

i use about 2:1 thinner to paint... works okay for me...

Yeah, it is... Maybe it's between 1:1 and 2:1...but it gets close to 2:1.

for Tamiya acrylic i use about 3:1 with about 17-18 psi. works great. except for X-18 semi-gloss black which i use like 5:1 cus is gets kinda spotty from the thinner. actually i use Humbrol 85 for semi-gloss black. its enamel but looks more realistic for chassis and other parts that should look metal. i use X-18 for interior work though, looks more like vinyl. hope this helps. oh and for Tamiya clear colors use like 2:1.

is that paint:thinner or thinner: paint

paint:thinner which is the standard for paint mixture dont ever read it the other way or youll be painting with a wash hehehe
