There is hope for the F22A engines
As I mentioned before, I have hopes and aspirations to beef up my stock F22A6 engine and know it's more than possible. Here are specs on a 1.55L D16A6 SOHC:
bore/stroke 2.97/3.35" Eaton M-62 supercharger w/ carb rotors, ported and timed; hand-fabricated intake manifold w/ boost control (27psi) 120-psi Bosch pump, RCE 550cc injectors 1.18 Del West intake valves, 1.06 Ferrea exhaust valves custom cam, custom valve springs, titanium retainers Custom Wiseco Roller-Wave Pistons 11.2:1 Eagle H-beam rods Moldex destroker crankshaft (for rod angle improvement) MSD, J&S SafeGuard ignition Kamikaze 4 to 1 to 3" cat to 3" exhaust Stock Honda cooling Stock Honda 5speed w/ Quaiffe differential, custom linkage (long shifter) 3-disc clutch Output: 487hp @ 7300 rpm 1/4 time: 11.04 secs 1/4 Trap Speed: 134.09 mph Here's the cincher: Fuel Economy (cty/hwy): 23-27/33-36 mpg. Let all that sink in and then think about how much of that is applicable to the F22A engine. Here is my conclusion: ALL OF IT except of course differing times in 1/4 and speed as well as fuel economy. Supercharge MAY not be an option but a custom Turbokit sure is. Chime in if you like. This is in a '89 Hatchback Civic at 2300lbs

CivSiGuy had made mention of this phenomenal Civic in his "Honda Performance FAQ" post found here
Even though the referencing link posted no longer exists at the HotRod site I've still got the article. It sits by my computer and books for me to look at all the time.
