Wierd stuff happened yesterday

So the plan for the day was to go to an import race then a car show.

I head out this morning because I'm supposed to meet a big group at Joe's shop to drive out there together. When I get there, there is a freaking sweet silver S2000 with a carbon fiber (Mugen?) hood, a carbon fiber wing, nice wheels, and a big front mount intercooler . So I go check it out, and he's running some turbo kit with some other stuff (hell if I know). His car was running to sit in the air conditioner, and when he shut it off, it proceeded to dump all it's radiator fluid on the ground under it. So as they send another car to get more, I take a look around to see what's showed up at the shop to drive there with us. A nice dark green civic coupe with flat black slipstreams and a jackson racing supercharger. Joe's got his yellow w/lime green flames talon he's messing with, running a T51R, he's supposed to be built to run 30psi but he's only gonna run 16 today for shakedowns. Then of course the usual compliment of hondas, toyotas, nissans, etc. Finally we get the S2000 full of radiator fluid again, and lo and behold it doesn't spit it back out this time, so we head to the track.

We get there and there's more of the standard hondas and stuff, a Jackson Racing supercharged Integra Type R was about the only thing worth mentioning. Fred was supposed to meet us with his 400hp eclipse GSX, but the MAF crapped out the night before. Buskirk was supposed to meet us with his high hp GSX, but the gear synchros were busted. Jeff would have brought his 2.4 liter GSX, but it's still being rebuilt. Gumby would have brought his t60-1 GST, but it crankwalked. Guess it's true what they say about DSM's .

I do a few passes to get my launch worked out before they call classes, and as I'm pulling to the staging lanes my remote wire grounds out and catches on fire. The remote wire happens to touch the nitrous line in a spot, and burned a hole in that. So suddenly my car is filled with thick black rubber smoke and nitrous. I jump out and reach under the dash where the smoke is coming from, grab a handful of wires and yank them out. That stopped the fire. Run to the bottle and turn it off. That stopped the nitrous. I spend the next half hour re-wiring all the wires I yanked out so the car will start again, then spend another half hour ripping the nitrous line out of my friends Celica to replace mine with a hole in it. Running out of time, so instead of running the line right, I run it right out the window and under the back edge of the hood. Talk about ghetto. Works though.

Beat the Supercharged Type R and the Supercharged Civic. I think "wow, how did I beat those 2 cars?" . Now I'm in the semifinals of modified import class. It's me, Joe, the S2000, and an Eclipse with nitrous. They spin the wheel and I get to run Joe. Whee . He launches it super easy then blows past me at half track. Of course the turbo S2000 beats the Eclipse. So Joe and the S2000 in the finals. Joe wins, running an 11.1 with the turbo S2000 running 12.4. I think "I ran a 12.0. I could have beat him and took 2nd. *pause* Whoa! I ran faster than that turbo S2000! " So I end up with a $50 gift certificate to a shop for 3rd place.

Head to the car show, my friend drives my car back while I spend the whole time fixing the rest of the wiring I yanked out. Visit a car wash on the way, and a bunch of damn paint flies right off my front bumper when I spray it off. Luckily I had some touchup paint.

Get there, most of the cars suck, I've got an alright chance. The best things to show up were a Ferrari 308 and a BMW M3 with 4 piston Brembo calipers on all 4 wheels, along with many other suspension upgrades. Recaro seats, full rollcage, the works as far as a street driven road racer goes. I figure he's got it in the bag. Some cute chick poses for a few picture with my car. There's also an Eclipse with corvette taillights and a Yellow Prelude with Ferrari emblems. Some stock Civic with wheels, a nitrous kit, and neons ends up winning. Everyone was a little miffed about that. They do a shoutout for my website on the live radio coverage of the show, and one of my friends wins 3 tickets to a Justin Timberlake concert tomorrow night

As we're leaving, Fred finally shows up, although the car is running rough from the MAF. As we leave, somebody in a 3000gt rear ends him.

Cliff notes version:

1:Badass turbo S2000 blows out radiator fluid

2:80% od DSM's don't work right

3:My car catches on fire

4:I beat a supercharged civic and supercharged integra type r, and run faster than the turbo s2000, end up with 3rd place

5:car wash blows paint off my bumper

6:Stock civic wins the car show

Also, all times were run on a 1000ft track that had crap for traction, an uphill end section, ~100 degree temp and ~4,000,000 % humidity

15's

There's a change to 16' Black Rota Slipstreams planned sometime in the future, but finishing my turbo kit is more important right now.
