All right,
I have a 1995 Eclipse GS-T. I am having a lot of problems with it... So I decided to get a beater car... an Acura Legend... and park the Eclipse. I want to put a first gen 4G63 motor in... The 5 or 6 bolt motor I think. That leads to my first question. 1. How hard is it to swap a first gen motor into a second gen car? Where can I find a new motor? Will the second gen tranny fit the first gen motor? Should I get a new tranny and rebuild it? If I should rebuild the tranny, how should I go apon rebuilding it? I don't just want to put in a first gen motor in it though. I want to put a rebuilt... beefy motor into my car. Therefor, while I am rebuilding the motor... I can work on the body of the car. The suspension and other things. 2. What parts do I need to totally rebuild the motor? Sould I just rebuild my second gen motor? I am worried about crankwalk... That is why I want to rebuild a first gen motor. What should I do? Money is not that much of a factor. I want to do it right the first time. So I want a list of everything I would need. From internals like cams and pistons to throttle body, porting, polishing, studs... Everything. I was wondering if you can help me with what I need, and what kind of parts I shuold get. Thank you, Dani Eclipse2GIndy

7 bolt is no where near as good as a 6 bolt, any year. The 6 bolt motor has big rods, and can do 600 HP stock. IF you find the need to build up a 6 bolt, go for it, but msot people will never see over 600 HP. I have an Eagle/Ross 6 bolt, but mainly because I run 25 psi daily, and drive 35k miles per year. I only make ~500 HP, so it wouldnt be necessary of I didnt beat the car continuously.
A 99 motor isnt a bad idea if the price is right though, jsut be aware of the smaller rods if you plan to make big power. When I my first 6 bolt swap after crankwalking 3 factory 95 motors, I bought a 100k miles 6 bolt block for 500, rebuilt 1g head for 300, and all the parts needed per the magnus site (everything you need is on magnus' site). Total was about 1200, plus an engine lift and stand, and all new TBelt parts. Took me two days, and I ran low 12s on that motor for 30k miles. It was still good when I pulled it out I recomend people start the same. A 300-500 dollar block at first. Worry about building it later when the conversion is out of the way. If you must though, I highly recomend SBR for built short blocks. He can build you a whole long block too if you'd rather get all of it assembled and timing belt done etc.
