This Sonoma is driving me nuts....
Had the oil filter issue last week, got it taken care of. Went ahead and finished my project this weekend of changing plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Get it all done, start it up, and with no pressure on the accelerator, it dies. I can start it up, give it gas, "keep it idling" with some pressure on it, but then it dies when I let up off the accelerator. Everything is plugged in where it should be, plug wires in correct spots, etc, and I'm frustrated, therefore I know I could use assistance (again).

I now know that I have very little compression in cylinder 1.

Re: This Sonoma is driving me nuts....
Is this in your '03 with the 262 V-6?
Did you add some oil to the cylinder and re0run the compression test? That can help differentiate between ring problems and valve problems. Although the fuel pump is new, is the pressure correct?

Re: This Sonoma is driving me nuts....
I did not add the oil and retest, I saw something about that after I had put everything up, will try that. I did a fuel pressure test, it was good. And yes this is the 03 V6.
