At least they killed the guy. I think it is so stupid when people murder other people then claim they are insane to get off with just a slap on the wrist, the courts now a days are all fucked up.

Ill have to agree. I feel that If someone commits a crime, they are punished for it. Insanity? Well then, lock them up in an institution for the rest of their life and dont give them any hope for release. If you kill someone and it's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were indeed the perp, you should be punished with severity. You took a life, now you pay, I think it's BS that people can claim things like insanity and only get three months in an institution, or plead necessity, somehow get away with it and get off scott-free. It's lame, but I cant do much about that can I?

While I fully support the need to punish the guilty (as has been expressed often enough) I would like to point out that even the people who are truely insane, do not commit a murder and then get released in a few month or even years. While I don't have the percentages in front of me, I recall it being over 90% spend the rest of their lives institutionalized.

IMO - The other 10% should then be transfered to prison to spend the rest of their lives.

Those that are not insane that commit 1st degree murder should be executed in a painful manner.

Probably a Guilotine or an axe (blunt and never sharpened to save costs)

Not only painful. But scream their heads off in terror painful. I suggest that you sit anyone who is about to be released from prison off of a felony charge right in the room with the fucker about to be executed. Let them see whats going to happen to them if they kill or rape someone once released. I assure you, sitting there and watching another loser getting dragged through a combination of shredded glass, salt and boiling murcury will get their attention.

and btw my last roomate was a phychology major and he was doing practice at the local mental hospital and what he told me about schizophernics was spookie.....it is a horrible disease.....having constant halucinations can't be fun....

and that guys should have been doing treatment....how can you have a schizoprhrenic on the lose without being under observation and treatement.....
