Clutch Slave Cylinder Replacement?
Got in my 95 Tercel yesterday, and the clutch went almost all the way to the floor with no resistance. Just great, my clutch is shot, and I'm not the mechanical type. But after doing some research, I found out the most common problem is a bad slave cylinder. I checked it this morning, and sure enough, I pulled the rubber boot back and dirty brake fluid was leaking and the reservoir is pretty much empty. I was quite relieved that it's just the cylinder (at least I'm hoping so). Just got back from the parts store with a new slave cylinder (only $15!) and a bottle of DOT3 brake fluid. Anyone have any advice for changing the cylinder, or it is really as easy as it looks?

After you install the slave cylinder,
1. FILL CLUTCH RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Check the reservoir frequently. Add fluid if necessary. 2. CONNECT VINYL TUBE TO BLEEDER PLUG Insert the other of the tube in a half–filled container of brake fluid. 3. BLEED CLUTCH LINE (a) Slowly pump the clutch pedal several times. (b) While depressing the pedal, loosen the bleeder plug until the fluid starts to run out. Then close the bleeder plug. (e) Repeat this procedure until there are no more air bubbles in the fluid.
