TAMIYA Rubbing Compound
What EXACTLY is Tamiya Rubbing Compound for, and why do people use it? Cant you just skip the compound and go strait to wax?

It's an abrasive polish, more pure than automotive polishes. Think of it as a liquid form of very high grit sandpaper that is in a paste-like carrier. You apply it to a clean cotton cloth and rub down the paint to smooth it out by smudging the paint around (quite literally).
Toothpaste does the same thing for your teeth in that its a paste or gel with an abrasive in it to break down the rough plaque that builds up on your teeth. You can actually use toothpaste as a polish for your cars if you can find something that doesnt have all the additives of new toothpastes. |

It will also turn a Semi-Gloss finish into a High Gloss finish. Trust me

But if you live in the UK don't even bother trying to find Tamiya Compound or Polish as it isn't even imported here by the importers!!
