2.5 RS engine

I'm trying to decide what my new used car will be. I'm thinking about a 1999 2.5RS with 75,000 miles on it. Are there any engine swaps for it, like a WRX engine or something (i'm new to subarus)? Around how much more money would insurance be if I did this? Also, if I put a turbo on the 2.5RS engine, around how much more money would insurance be? What's the redline on a 1999 2.5RS (i forgot to look)?

Thanks a lot for your time.

2.5 RS

Redline in the 2.5 RS is about 6400 (I don't know exactly, I'll have to look when I drive home), but accelleration drops off a bit over 6000.

I have seen a 99 2.5 RS with a Japanese 22B engine in it. I don't know how much it costs, but it is possible, and it adds a lot of power.

Swaop cost anywhere from 6-10K I assume from owhat I've seen. The price may vary depending if they have an engine for you or you provide them with the engine for the swap.

NEW engine are anywhere from 1500-about 3000 dollars. That's USDM WRX engines (EJ20). 2.5L engine are EJ25.

If you're gonna swap in a WRX engine, you'll need the WRX crossmember too, and a few other things.

A pretty cheap swap would be a legacy turbo engine. You'll still need to change crossmember, but you should be able to get it all for a lot less than the WRX parts.

Thanks for all your help. The reason why i'm asking is cause I'm thinking about getting either a 1999 2.5RS with 75,000 miles on it, or a 1995 Impreza with 125,000 miles on it. And if I get the 1995 I was thinking to replace the engine since it has so many miles on it and if I get the 2.5RS to put a turbo on it.
