2.5 Engine

Hi all,

Just found this forum today.

The oil pump (or at least I'm 99% sure) went out on my 1990 2.5L Grand AM.

The top end of the engine started making alot of noise. I tried starting it to put it in the garage, but it wouldn't start. Then engine wouldn't turn over, only made a clicking sound.

Anyways I got the car in the garage and began taking it apart. Drained the oil and got the pan off.

I'm worried the engine may have siezed up.
My question is: 1) Is it possible to turn the flywheel to verify the engine isn't seized.

2) Is it ok for the oil to be out of the engine for a while till I get it fixed. Less than a month.

1) Yes...this is the way we verify if an engine is siezed or not

2) Yes...there should be enough oil residue to keep things from rusting
