um, yeah you should beat him,
even if you just look at hp alone... you should beat him, or maybe you are just a superior driver... but not speller...

His Vtech was not wired up properly im guessing. There is no way that you should have won. If his Vtech was working he would have beat you pretty bad... That is common problem when they drop in B16a... Vtech needs to wired up for him to get all his power. I have friend who has a 92 civic hatchback cx and he only has 70 hp... to the flywheel. He slow but I have a friend with 93 ex coupe he have 125 hp to the flywheel but he has exhaust>>straightpipe and AEM intake the civic hatch keeps up damn near till 3rd gear... So if he were to put that Civic Coupe ex engine in his hatchback he would destroy the coupe... The Civic Ex has a D16d rated at 125 hp & 105 tq... the B16a is rated at 160hp & around 120 tq... So do the math even with the D16d he would spank any Ka24de (stock) or (lightly modifed). So what im saying is even if your friend didnt know how to drive he still should have won.

Torque is an issue but not here...
The weight of the hatch makes up for the torque anyways the B16a is almost the same as the Ka only off by like 20 and that dont mean shit... when horsepower is compared I know from personal experience. Ive ridden in a Gsr Hatch, B16 Hatch, D16d Hatch all three could destroy me in my stock state...

I ive driven my friends H22 powered prelude.he has some mods to it and it doesnt really start pulling till a little bit before redline.Hondas are not nice but not my cup of tea
Im guessing the driver of the civic is shittay at drivin teh stik I think all ricers should get the APEXi V-AFC so it could tell them if their VTEC is working or not

on the twincam v-tec you can really hear it and feel it when the hotter cam engauges and ghostchild i think your friend's H22 is fucked up, cause my friends H22 is a strong motor, and it really really rev happy and it even feels like that it has better low end torque then my car. you can shit to 5th at 30mph and the thing won't even lug!! it just rev's smoothly and it a very very impressive motor. plus i've also sat in my friend's bro's B16a powered CRX and that was had balls!! it was definitly faster then the prelude. and i have another friend with a GS-R powered hatch and he ran a 14.0 at a track. the car has bolt ons and thats it. so there is no way that your car is faster, you beat the driver not the car

I agree Tat.H22a is nice I wouldn't mind owning a prelude after driving his but the engine bay is so cramped ughh..
The reason I(and everybody else) think the car isnt that as poerful as it should be is because the of High milage the motor has.He races that motor alot too.His engine needs a rebuild badly but the guy just wont listen. He recently installed a NOS kit but has yet to shoot it yet.He says he's going to turbocharge it next. It feels weak to me prolly cuz im used to V8s perhaps? I wanna turbo my KA!Can I borrow yours Tat?

well if your used to driving V8's then of course a H22 would feel slow. but it you compare a H22 to a KA that is not turboed the H22 feels alot stronger.
