Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Hi all,my name is Ciro and I'm a newbie from Italy. My usual area about the models is the ModernEra Armor so I'm not a newbie in the worlds of models.
I'll go with my first 1/24 auto kit...it will be a: Fujimi Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 (12593) with the Hobby Design PE set(HD02-0232) and the Hobby Design Brake&wheels System Detail-up Set(HD03-0216) I would ask something: 1)Is there on the market a Recaro seat for the Bmw Z4 GT3?!(from what I can see it's the standard seat in Bmw Z4 Gt3) 2)if yes...can you say me the code of the seat?Where can I get it? 3)Can I use other type of seats?(like Sparco?!if yes...which of them?) 4)Which are the tires on the market that I can use with Hobby Design wheels?!There are some options on the market...can you say me how I can to move in this area? 5)Can you share your thoughts/comments/suggestions or tweaks list about this kit if you have had it in the past!? Thank you to all for the attention. Admin feel free to move this thread to proper are if this on is incorrect. Regards Ciro Riccio |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
I can't answer any of your questions directly, but if you browse this section a few pages back or use the search function, you can find several excellent build-ups of this kit. The answer to question 5 lies there.
I haven't seen anybody replacing the seat or tyres in this kit, are you not happy with the kit parts? I used to think they were OK.

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Hi Eugene,
thank you for the reply!Well....I think that there is nothing wrong with the kit part....this will be my first auto in 1/24 so I would try different things over the model. Basically I think that all is possible over this model(like a custom vehicle),more or less like in real world so I would try. Maybe you can help me in this: If I use those adhesive clothing for the seats...is it possible to apply decals over that surface?!How do you apply decals like Sparco/Recaro over modified seats?(updated with flocking powders or adhesive clothing). PS I've seen the great posts over the Bmw but I haven't find the info... Regards Ciro |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
I haven't tried adhesive cloth or flocking myself, I'm happy with just rough paint for seats (I spray unthinned paint from a distance to get a rough surface). My trick for applying small decals to seats and seatbelts is to separate a decal from the backing and to apply some acrylic clear (Tamiya X-22) to the back of the decal while holding it with tweezers. This softens the decal a lot and makes it stick well to the rough surface. Of course, the application is then followed by decal-setting liquid and flat clear on top.

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Ciro,
I have the exact kit you listed. The kit alone is quite good and really doesn't need any upgrades tho, like you, I bought the photoetch and the brake and wheel set for mine. So as far as detailing items go you've got pretty much what you need. For seats, there are some "aftermarket" ones available by hobby design http://www.ebay.ca/itm/HOBBY-DESIGN-...item4ad22f3354 I bought my photectch and my brake set from this seller and he's got great service and packs the items well. Only issue has ever been wait times on shipping simply because of customs here in Canada can be really fast or really slow, and no fault of the seller. Do you plan on doing a specific car that has raced in the real world? Or you just plan on doing the car on the box with the decals supplied in the kit? As far as the tires go, the kit supplied ones are perfect. They have the detailed mold lines on the tire walls just like the real tires do and don't need to be replaced. For the seats, eugene78's suggestions work fine. I sometimes use a textured paint, Walmart has a suede one that works good, and then I just paint the seat with black or a dashboard top with black or a dark grey pending on whats on the real car. Check Viperofoz's thread on his McLaren F1 GTR for the dash look http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1137195 Go through the completed section as well as the WiP section for motorsports. There are a lot of really good builders here and see things the guys add to their builds to make them exceptional. Hope this helps some. David |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Thank you Eugene for the trick!!
David, thank you for the reply!! I've planned to do a no markings car(completely black or white).Probalby if I'll use the decals they will be the ones in the kit. The next models will have all the decals works. I would try to do a good model, with good accurancy. Can you say me if there are differences between the : Sparco S-Light Circuit seat and the Sparco PRO-ADV seats..... they look similar to me but I don't know this world so sorry for these stupid questions.I'll try to better explore the forum that it's very very big. Thank you again for your support!!! Ciro |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Ciro,
To be honest, since you don't plan on replicating an actual race car, the kit supplied seat will likely be more than sufficient. I'd only worry about swapping out the seat to match a car you want to represent. David |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
Thank you David!
This is my first model but not my first model kit,(Modern Armor 1/35 area)so for this time I would build a model with no specific markings. I call it a diversive, cause,as you can understand with this type of cars you can do what do you want and you can be accurate however cause the possibilities are endless(basically you can do the same things with your own BMW Z4 if you have one LOL )....in the armor area you can't do it...as you can image. However I would depict it accurate as it will be a base for future kits that will brings markings with them. Cheers Ciro |

Re: Bmw Z4 Gt3 2013 questions
You can use the tyres supplied in the kit on the Hobby Design wheel set.
Personally I found the kit seat more than adequate, especially given the fact you can hardly see it once the bodyshell is on. This is my build.... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1123215
