Is a 97 F150 4.2L any good?
I'm looking at buying a 97 4x2 F150 4.2L, single cab ,short box with 120,000kms. Couple questions I have, are these trucks in those yrs. reliable? how are the 4x2's in the snow? basically I'm trying to find the low down on this truck and whether the 4x2 with a 4.2L is worth buying. What I want to use it for is the usuall truck type stuff such as camping, fishing those types of things and snowboarding in the winter. I heard as it is these trucks ain't the greatest in the snow, so I'm guessing a 4x2 would make it even worse if I had to drive up a road that had bad wintery conditions?
Oh and the guy wants $11,200 Canadian for it. Last edited by Vtec; 06-26-2003 at 03:55 PM. |

I don't know about the 4.2 but for what you want I'd hold out for a 4x4. I've had many 2x4 p/u's and they do suck in the snow but this last winter I bought my first 4x4 and the difference in the snow is like night and day. I don't see how I've lived this long w/o one.............lol

I just wanted to put something out there... Canada sucks. In addition, I think you should put in NOS.
