Brake upgrade questions...

I understand from reading many threads on brakes that the 300zx brake setup is a great mod. I am interested in doing that sometime.

My 1996 240sx has the 4 x 114.3 bolt pattern. I was thinking of doing a 5 lug conversion, but recently found that my extra set of Spec V 17" wheels will fit perfectly on that bolt pattern.

Can I do the 300zx brake conversion on my 4 lug hubs? I know that I can have a machine shop drill out the holes for a 4 lug setup on the 300zx discs. But are there other things that will prevent this working?

Any suggestions?
thanks
Seth

that should be the only thing you'll have to do. just make sure those rims clear the calipers, as some don't.

I heard that most 17 inch rims do have clearance. Hopefully u didnt get one of those that dont! If they dont clear see if u can get a refund for some that do!

the low down on z32 brakes-

26mm or 30mm?
aluminum or iron?
from a turbo or non turbo z32?
are there differences between different years?

quote from Justin.b from club240.com-
Ideally you want the aluminum 26mm calipers. These will fit behind most stock 7 spoke S13 wheels.

If I remember correctly, these came only on the 1990 n/a Z32. After that the n/z went to steel calipers wich are heavier. All tt's had the 30mm (early were aluminum, later were steel), which will not fit without spacers.
