Arrow Fixing Up the MR2... Help?

I need Help!!
This mite make me, or Break me on the Streets...

Okay, i just got a 92 MR2, nonTURBO...
Im tryint to make it an AllMotorCar, but i am willing to overlook that and Add Turbo or SC it...
iM not trying to claim i kno all this mad Stuff, but i think i kno enough...
to try and become all Motor, i should do a swap, rite?
After the swap, internals
Then, enxternals, like, Piping n stuff...

now there is a problem... *and try not to flame me*
Turbo, or SC?
Not looking into nos... as i am a NOOB, "its cheating."
i kno i kno.. pretty NOOB-ish of me....
Which would do less damage, and still be cost effectient...

First off, you sound like you're utterly confused.

What I would do before thinking about any power mods are the follwing:

1) make sure it runs, and runs well
2) do a tune up and replace all the fluids
3) determine what YOU want from YOUR car
4) learn how to drive it

Before you mod it I suggest you give yourself some seat time and become familiar with its oversteer tendencies and how to control it. You should also try to learn as much as you can about each option before throwin down money for something you may not even want in the long run.

I have yet to see a supercharged MKII MR2 but it would be very cool.

You can do a high rate cam upgrade to the NA and add headers (about $1000-$1400) and it should give you 30HP in the high powerband.

There are two engines you can get from Japan for the MKII. one is the 1997-1999 245HP turbo engine and the other is a 200HP VVTI N/A engine. Both are sweet but will cost some bucks to get ahold of ($5,000-$7,000)

check www.mr2faq.com for more info.

I love the NA I have one as well and it's a great track car. I agree though that you really should take some pro driving classes if you get this car, it's wicked fast through the twistys but it will get you sideways if your ready or not.

i thought that 1995 was the last year they made the mk2... and there are 3 engines, the first one was a celica turbo engine, then the other two 3sgte's

a supercharger would be sweet, if u could get one that works for it, maybe the mk1 supercharger? then we'd be in the same boat for rare mr2's! lol, you and your supercharger mk2, and my mk1.5 (3sgte in a first gen)

either way, best of luck!

1995 was last year in the states. Then afterwards Japan goes and pulls out a 245 hp 3S and in like 98 or something they do the 200hp NA (BEAMS red top) motor.... damn them!

And NONE of those are mid-engine sports cars. Mid-engine cars hav ENTIRELY differnt handling characteristics than other cars.

A complete 3sgte swap would be inline if you want to keep your actual car and if you want signitifcantly more power. There is no need to work the internals of a 3sgte unless you are going well beyond 450RWHP... I have seen them go over 500RWHP on the stock internals.

There are several out there. All of the ones I have seen are supercharged V6s though
