Question vtec problem

ok i have practically a teg type r set up. Recently, I installed some skunk2 type 2 camshafts and valvetrain stuff. Everything works but when i hit vtec the car lags. Instead of feeling extra power during vtec, it feels like a lost of power during 6500-9000....does anyone know how to fix this problem? Just wondering if it has some thing to do with the air/fuel ratios is off or did i install it wrong??

Thanks

you probably need to get them dialed in. in other words hit up a dyno and start tuning
