What do you wax your Honda's with?

I finally found my dream honda. Its being trucked tomorro and will hopefuly be here Monday. Its a 1998 Honda Accord EX white. Needless to say its time to get supplies to take care of my baby. What do you guys use to protect your precious babies from the ravages of nature? I would really like to keep it to something I can find in my towns stores. Above all, I don't wanna have to freaking wax every 2 weeks, I want it to last and be durable but still give it a nice shine. What do you guys recommend?

Even the best waxes only last for 30-60days so I recomend using a long term paint sealant instead of wax if you dont want to apply wax every 2 months or so.

1. For the best shine wash/dry in the shade
2. clay bar
3. polish or glaze
4. sealer or wax

use a wash & wax for washing after you have applied the wax or sealer.

Paint Sealant (dealers charge a couple hundred dollars for this stuff on new cars)

1-step cleaner/glaze/sealer

I dont beleive those products are for sale over the counter, but I can sell some 8oz or 16oz bottles of each.

I went to Wal-mart and got a bottle of my trusted Nu- Finish. The reviews on it were pretty good and i've been using it for years with good results and it lasts a good while before I need to rewax. Waxing once a month aint much of a bother. I spent $50 on car care supplies today, but my new baby will be worth every penny, im so excited to get her!

You should also invest into an orbital polisher it does work in 1/2 the time needed to do it by hand. Also some microfiber towels for windows & removing wax/polish.

I've seen so many cars when I worked at a car wash with those swirl scratch marks from orbital buffers that using one scares the crap outa me. I'll do it by hand even if it takes longer, I got strong arms. My Honda's worth it.

Your thinking of a high speed rotary buffer. Orbital buffers dont casue swirls, you would need to apply 100lbs of force for a couple minutes in the same spot to make a swirl.

this type I used a $30 craftsman for years detailing.

This type causes swirls if not used correctly.

Go with Meguiars. It's well know and well respected among show car owners and enthusiasts. I use Meguiars Deep Crystal car wash and then you can wax with Meguiars gold.

Meguairs is ok for over the counter supplies. Meguiars is not the best brand out there, just maybe the best you can get over the counter. Hi-Temp makes some great pro quality wax, polish, compound, & glaze. For some really good stuffclick here
