4 door civic good?

Okay here is my dilema. CRX's are everwhere and everyone has them so what I want to do is get a 4 door fourth gen and build it up. I still want to do the same thing to the engine that I said I would for the CRX. Do you guys driving four doors know how heavy these cars are? Do they weight as much as newer two door civics(92-00)? What kinds of cars have you raced and beat in a 4 door?

The DX 4 door is actually 300 lbs lighter than the SI hatch. They weigh less than all the newer gen civics.

In my 4 door ... I have beaten a v6 mustang ... but lost to a corolla and a few other cars ... I beat a 01 s10 freeway racing ... but thats cause he has a limiter at 100.

main thing holdin me back is dual point fuel injection ... cause im running a sohc zc.

4th gen 4 doors can be fast ... redline_civic91 is running a b20/vtec in a 91 dx 4 door, and 91zc is running a b16, also in a 91 dx 4 door.

If you want a 4 door get one ... then at least other people on the road will know that you are a big baller and didnt cheap out on the other 2 doors like the hatch and crx people did

the sedan barely weighs more than the hatch. i have seen a bunch of sweet sedans. i have a sedan myself 91ZC ran a 14.7 in his sedan with a b16. a know a crx with the same b16 that runs 14.1...different people have different driving skills however, the sedan can hold it's own ground.

look in the photos at www.4thgenerationcivic.com, there are sedans in all the sections

Get the EX

Get the EX it will save you time, and you wont need to upgrade as much stuff. I have a DX and is a pain in the ass to upgrade things that I could have but dont cause dame crap DX.

How hard would it be to swap in a SOHC VTEC in a DX or LX? How long would it take if I did it myself?

not too hard ... you gotta rewire the DPFI to MPFI and get all the shit for that ... and you also need to get a vtec controller or an rpm activated switch ... this is a great swap to do in your 4th gen cause you aint gotta get new mounts and shit.

hey

hey if you have a choice of dx or lx go lx it has a tach and that's gonna really piss you off later down the line by the way i may be a newbee but i would also reccomend a 4 door there is a nice websight dedicated to them can't find the post right now though but ask around you should find one, i'de have one but i prefer a car which i can throw something over the back seat and it end up in the trunk... i know it's cheezy but that's why i love HBs. go for it man there is no difference in engine bay.

lx has a few other things aside from the tach also ... like power everything and bumpers painted the same color as the car.

or just go get an EX which has power locks, windows, mirrors, and whatever else that i can't think of, optional sunroof (which i don't have ) and the d16a6 it surprises some people to see my car, think its a piece, and then see the Si engine with my 5-speed then get envious

4th gen 4doors are cool nice sleepers. ex and lx are gonna be heavier than dx. but you do got the optional shit. which i say fuck those things i'll roll down my window, and push my lock down with my finger.. but just remember if you did everything your gonna do to your engine and put in a crx you'd have a faster car.
