buy-model.com

Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with all of you and see if anyone has dealt with them. www.buy-model.com, they seem relatively cheap, they seem to package there models just as good as HLJ and you can also get an idea of the shipping costs for an item on screen by selecting your country. They also display their prices in US dollars which I know would be helpful to a lot of you guys. An example of the pricing is a Tamiya Jagermiester(sp) Alfa Romeo from HLJ to Ireland inclusive of shipping is €21.57 from these guys its €18.06. Quite a difference in my books. Only down side to them is they dont do anything like paints, finishing materials or aftermarket stuff.

Anyway anyone dealt with them before?

Ciaran

They spotted me bidding on ebay, and sent me a PM asking me to give them a try. They are a tad cheaper, but they haven't got what i want, so I wasn't too fussed.

Where are they based by the way?

Will models survive Surface mail?
I thought hlj discourages to use surface mail due to rough handling, but what about buy-model?

4.2 What if I want something that is not on the current Buy-Model.com website catalog or it is out of stock?

If you cannot find an item on our site, or it is currently out of stock, don't worry, it might be on the way since we are always
stocking new items. If you think that we do not have certain items that we should have, feel free to use our Request service to tell us or email to [[email protected]]
They pay attention to their service, that's good.

I just want to let you guys know the prices on buy-model.com is not that cheap. They mark up the price by 20%.

1) Subaru Impreza WRX Sti 12.95usd , in fact it is just around 10usd the model shop here selling.

2) for the Tamiya Williams BMW FW24 $24.20, in fact it is just around 18usd the model shop here selling.

I think I should build an online hobby store to make business with you guys

Sorry it isnt much use to you joecwlaw, not sure where you are but Tamiya models in Ireland cost about €25 to €40 so I am still saving roughly €7 per kit inclusive of shipping. I wish I had your model shops here. glad the rest of you like it and glad I can have some positive input to the group.

Ciaran

PS if anyone does go through them could you let the rest of us know please.
