ls swap header problems

ok i got my oil pan on, and im trying to get my header on. but the lower part of my header hits the oil pan right where the pipes bend, how did u b series swap guys handle this ?

or more of, what kind of header do u think it is because i know a ls header would fit, would a b16 header botl onto the block and clear the oil pan ?

Headers are almost always a problem to get on, how much does the header need to move in order to clear the oil pan? Is it a close fit, or does the header not even come close to clearing it?

Any B series header will fit a B series motor.

Is the header all put together, or are you trying to get the bottom half to mate with the top half?

I usually have to wrestle with headers when we put them on, sometimes I have to heat things up with a torch in order to get them to fit. But an inch is quite a bit, and I seriously doubt that heating the header will make that much difference.

Sorry, I just sold it on ebay for $230. It was in the classifieds section here for a week or two for I think $150 but got no bites so I resorted to ebay.

are you trying to attach the bottom section to the top section while the top section is bolted to the head? cause you almost certainly wont be able to that way. you should hang the top section on the studs, connect the bottom section, and then go back and tighten all the bolts

well normally i would try and do that, but since my ac fan is actually hitting my header and the header is all bolted down and everything. so i cant really take off the header that easy. but i guess ill have to try that. i dont really wanan have to dent my oil pan in or go buy another header. and yeah im trying to bolt the bottom to the top while hte top is all torqued down in place
