Anyone done a 180SX nose on an S13 Silvia?

I was wondering if anyone had done this conversion. I might be the first to try it. If someone has, was it hard??

a One-Via!!! i say do it. that would be awesome. and then you could make a Sileighty with the other parts. you are a very smart man...i might have to try this in the future.

not sure about how hard it would be, but the doors on a 180SX are the same shape as the door on an S13, so if you cut the body at the backs of the front fenders, they should line up good.

I am hoping it will all line up without too much trouble. I will post pics as soon as I start. I have just ordered a Sileighty from HLJ too so that will be fun. The Sileighty will have a race wing and will be lowered with Advan RG's. Pics soon.

Your gonna need a 180SX hood too. Or you could cut the S13 hood where the lights should be. I think you should definately go for it.

It does work like that, I did the conversion years ago, cut the whole front end off at the leading edge of the doors. I'll dig it out for photos later. It's missing a mirror...

good to hear!

if i find another 180SX kit (hard to find around here), then i'll probably get an S13 kit too and make a One-Via and another Sileighty, just swap front ends!

hey BOOSTD - i'm putting RG's on my Sileighty! way to bite my style! lol jk.

Of the four S13 front/rear combos, I have to say the One-via (a.k.a the USDM S13 coupe) is my least favorite. And I love pop-up lights... Maybe it's because I still feel stiffed by Nissan for not having real Silvias in the US....

That said, would still like to build one myself, and would surely love to see yours, Bob!

it's probably because we see them every day around here. we take them for granted. it's not "out of the ordinary" or "weird" so see a One-Via driving down the street in North America, where-as a Sileighty would attract alot of attention.

Maybe, but still I drool over the fastbacks, just not the coupes, when they have the same front end. Maybe I don't think the pop-ups suit the coupe as well... I dunno

guh i don't understand the onevia. i prefer a sileighty. i guess i haven't seen a onevia eh? make sure they are from the same model manufacturers.. last year i was into trucks and i really loved seeing chevrolet silverados with cadillac escalade front ends.. so i got a DIE-CAST model of both.... i couldn't find plastic models.. and tried to do the conversion myself. oh jeeze the issues i had.. the escalade front end is wider than the silverado so i never figured out a way it would work. i still have everything and i may try and start it again.. for those who don't know what i'm talking about, i've attached an image of a real truck that inspired me...

good luck on the conversion.. i'd say go with aoshima. i think they make both..

Tamiya made both a Silvia and 180SX back in 1989, and Fujimi have made later versions of each. Dunno if the Tamiya and Fujimi kits will mix-n-match like we think they should...
