WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
, i just found out it went for $592,000 WITH christies premium (or $502, 050 without), a 2nd lowest record that a mclaren has been for sale, with chassis number 27R taking the cake on that one, "This ex-Parabolica GTR ’97 ‘Long Tail’ was sold by Bonhams (then Brooks) at Goodwood's Festival of Speed auction in June 2000. Despite an unexceptional history by F1 standards and needing a total mechanical overhaul, it sold for £275,000. Indeed, 27R is a fine illustration of the ‘lower value’ F1 GTR on account of it's condition, history and originality (having suffered an engine bay fire at one point)."------------------------------- on another note, while i was there i found out the owner repainted the car blue to match a watch he owned

Are you sure that price is in US Dollars and not British Pounds. It makes a lot more sense if it were Pounds since that equals $995,448 USD. I can't imagine the car selling for much less than that.
Did you get to see that car btw? >8^) ER |

535,000 GBP was the hammer price
102,720 GBP was the 19.5% buyer's premium -------------- 637,720 GBP Total. At today's exchange rate ($1.6836 to the pound), that works out to 1,073,665.25 USD, which is pretty much in line with what these cars are commanding in Europe these days. Sale results should be up on their website later this week. |

If the car stays in England, the buyer will have to pay an additional 17.5 % VAT (UK sales tax) as well.
