ford's hella cool yellow bumpers

yo - how do you guys with old paint jobs fix up the bumpers when they start to peel? I'm thinking black spray paint on the black molding, and white car paint for the white part. What is your take?

With any rubber bumper you need to use an exopy primer or the paint you put on will just peel and flake off cause it doesn't like to adhere to rubber. Goto your local automotive paint supplier and ask for it in a spray bomb. It's not cheap usually around $20-25 a can. But it is well worth it.

I used flat black bumper paint available at just about any auto parts store. Worked great for me.

Ditto, except I used gloss black. It's been my experience that a properly prepped urethane bumper will allow most paints to stick.

If you know the color code of your car, you can go to the auto store and buy a small can of paint to match your paint almost exactly. Just remember that the better you prep the spot the better the job will look.

yeah, you need to wash it and prep and prime it before you spray it. try not to get carried away and look like them mexicans with blue flames on the side of their "souped-up" hoopty. try not to overspray because it'll leave drip marks, looks sloppy. i painted the lower bumper on my stang gloss black with a dupont automotive spray can...you know, like the gt's. looks good.
