How can I get the smoothest ride and still race the windy roads?

I have a 67 Firebird that pushes about 500hp. I want to totally revamp the suspension so that it drives like a luxury sedan, yet still corners like a contemporary sports car. I have no problem with ripping everything out from underneith my car to replace it with the very best stuff. What kind of suspension modifications can I do both front and back? Corvette rear suspension? Air Ride System? My priority is having the smoothest ride possible, not winning a race.

If possible go with Corvette stuff if not with 500+ hp something is going to break. A independent rear will be the best bet, that will smooth things out. But anyways I feel your pain I have a 87 with a 550hp bigblock in it and the front sits too low due to the weight, the exhaust draggs the ground when I hit a dip in the road....... but hey it's a Firbird and thats how they ride. Hehehe ever ride in the back ...feels like your ass is dragging the ground.

First, If you haven't already reinforce the unibody. Get tubular control arms and coil overs, for the front. For the back IRS would be best, although very pricey. A four link would be a good alternative, and get anti-roll bars all around. That part will let you handle the curves.

Next, get the proper spring rates for the coil overs, and the right diameter for the anti-roll bars. That will give you the ride you're looking for.

Sorry I can't be more specific with numbers and such but ride feeling is a personal thing. What is too soft for me is often too hard for everyone else I know. Then again, I like to feel every little bump in the road.
