B18C5 has a high compression ratio so therefore not the best engine to turbocharge unles you change internals or always run low boost.

How about a B20 block combined with a VTEC head.B20 block has lower compression, produces alotta torque.Perfect for boost.

That or a B18B.

thats also a load of cash for a ITR motor and a turbo not to add wedgeing the motor in the back that would be great though. somebody post a pic of it plz i feel like drooling. I would say b16 is all you need if you want you can go turbo allmotor or S/C it's got somuch aftermarket you'll find tons of great stuff for it.

yeah you can do it but its a waste of money....just get a b18c1 or a b18b1 those are almost the same thing (especially the c1) but with lower compresion.....whch you'll have to do anyway if you wanto to turbo

I say keep the motor that is already in the car and build and turbocharger that. You'll be able to go faster with that motor than you'll probably ever need to go.

A friend of mine spent about 400 dollars cobbling together a used Toyota turbo, some piping, a fuel riser, and some other goodies to turbocharge a Honda Del Sol with the 94HP 1.5 liter motor (it was an experiment). That car now beats b16-equipped hatchbacks.

He basically created a flange on a stock Honda manifold where he could bolt-on the turbo.

not really...the c5 has a completely different head (b16), not to mention ITR header, intake mani, pistons as jus a few different parts on the motor. (not trying to sound like a dick, jus making a correction)

i would still agree w/ u however, run the b18b1/c1...lot cheaper, an u can get them to be quicker then the c5 w/ the cash u'll have left over.

yeah i know there were some significant differences between those engines....i guess i exagerated when i said they are almost the same but still the best turbo honda b18's that i know of are the ls engine and the gsr one.....the headre , intake and other stuff that the itr have would end up being replaced when going seriuosly turbo anyway

i know some del sol's came with a vetec i say get that one and swap it in. I dont know the name because i dont do alot of research on hondas but i would get a vetec that is in a car in the US. The reason for this is if u want to mod the vetec after u get it in your del sol there will be allot more parts for a vetec that is in a car in america.

this is only my opinion someone correct me if im wrong
