who can help me with my clutch problem
I just finished having my brakes done and i was driving down he road, everything seemed fine until I stop at the bank to check my balance. I got into my car and I could not get the damn thing into the gear, I had the clutch as far as it would go, I tried it in reverse, it just kept grinding the gears, I turn the car off and I had to force the stick into first gear, even then when I started the car it want to die and pop the stick out of gear. Basicly its this, the car is off, It's hard to put into gear but managable. The car is started, it's impossible to put into gears, what can I do?

If your car is hard to get into gear, let the clutch out for a second & then try getting the gear.
Did they take your car for a road test? |

Check your clutch fluid.

well your throw out bearing could be bad but also your slave cylinder may be gone to which is what pumps the fluid and all so you might want to check that. and like the other guy said check your fluid.

I had the same problem. My car wouldn't start in first so I put it in second and it started. But when I would drive it and put it in third it pop like if somthing wasn't grabing(gears)I took it to a clutch shop and they told me that one of the spring had pop out and that's why it wouldn't grab the gear. But before I had all this trouble my car wasn't that bad i would have trouble sometimes putting it in first gear only. It's like no matter how hard I trird it would go in to first.. My clutch finally went out after 3month, I mean the spring pop out. the shop told me that I still had plenty on the cluch. But beware when you go to a shop they might say it's the tranny not the clutch or they might also say your clutch is out to and you have the get a new clutch and tranny. I know this becuase the guy that work on my car said first that it was a tranny problem but because he knows my dad, he called back the next day and said it was only the clutch. I say this because he told me that alot of times when this happens to people THE SHOP"S say it's the tranny and the clutch when really it's only the clutch......know what I mean $$$$$

You should never downshift to 1st gear while rolling, maybe a couple 2 or 3mph - nothing more. |

How do you know that it is the tranny and not the clutch?Did you try putting it in second gear to see if it will start?Did it work? For some reason I think It's your clutch. I really think that you should get it check out.Grinding......that sounds really BAD!!!!!!!!!

well i never downshift to first unless im coming to a stop in which im usually doin about 2 or 3 miles an hour, but as for second it grinds on the downshift and upshift so am i right in saying it is the synchronizers....also i have a stage 2 clutch in it
