i will be nice and try to answer this question to the best of my ability. the oil sending unit is basically this sensor with a harness connected to it, its right next to your oil filter. so basicaly just look for the oil filter then try to look for a wire goin to it. now in order to remove it you need to disconnect the harness then use a socket and unscrew it. in order to install a oil pressure switch, you need a T fiting that will fit on both ends of hte sending unit. plus don't forget to use teflon tape or else it will leak. now for the termoswitch. you odn't need to find it, just hook up a T to a coolant line goin to the throttle body. this way you won't have to tap a hole into the thermostat housing. this way its alot easier and cleaner if your goin to use a water temp sensor.

Well..

The car runs fine. Its an 89 auto hatch. It does however have some damage to the front passenger shock tower. It was hit at about 15mph and we bought it thinking it was an easy fix. Being a inline motor, the collision made the trans labor upon shifting, due to not being aligned properly. So, I only drove it about 20 miles in the last 2 years. I figured not to drive it, until the collision was fixed, that way the trans wouldn't see any more abuse. I replaced all of the body pieces, and a bunch of other broken stuff, and even replaced the 89 front end with the newer 92-93 front end. The only thing the car really needs, is a p/s headlight harness, and a good go'round with a collision rack.

The plan was to fix it up for my girl, but we found that there was more to the repair than just "fixing it". I might have paid more attention to it, had it been a manual. We had a lot of shit bought for the car, including the kit, 17's, 180sx Kouki tails, and bunch of other shit. I made the mistake of getting caught up in "hooking up" when I should have fixed the car first.

It just got to be a hassle, that and my girl screwed up by signing the title without a notary around. So technically, the car still belongs to my friend. If anyone wants this car for cheap let me know. You might have to go through some paperwork to make everything legit, but its a good deal if you know someone in the collision repair business. Or I can sell it as a parts car, with no title.

I have my civic, which is my project, and she has since gotten a 90 Integra, so we have no use for it. I want to do a 180sx at some point, but I'd like to finish my Civic first.

In my experience, Rick is a hella nice guy, and he definitely knows his shit. But there are others on that site that are even more knowledgeable. Super Street is probably the best US mag out there, as opposed to some of the other "rice-only" garbage that we are fed. In a perfect world, we'd have English translated Option2's at every magazine store, but alas...
