Keyless entry for '98 Intrigue

Recently purchased a '98 Old Intrigue with one working keyless entry. Bought another from Ebay, and followed the protocol listed below to program with no results. Tried a new battery, still nothing. Ebay seller mailed me another remote, still no luck. I can get the one that came with the car to cause the horn to honk three times by using the method of programming from the other thread, but niether or the other two will do anything. Do I have two faulty remotes from the seller, or am I doing something wrong??

don't know but if you find out please let me know, having the same problem but just on my first remote from ebay.

I ended up having to buy directions from an online store that also sells the remotes. There were some steps missing at the beginning of the process. I have lost the directions now though, and do not remember what was missing.
