Hi
A few of us here are from the UK.
We all have that problem of over priced kits in the UK, Most of us I would say import from Japan from one of the 3 online english speaking stores, the links are in the FAQ, but look for
www.HLJ.com
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng,
http://hobbyworld.aoshima-bk.co.jp/eindex.asp

One good company in the UK is www.Kingkit.co.uk which have cheap or second hand kits, or come to some of the modelling show around the country and pick up a few bargins

have a sale on at the moment, but all in expect to pay around £40 for a model if you include absolutely everything! but mine are now coming to around £60-100 for some of them, god knows what that would cost if you paid someone else to do it for you. Also depending on where you are in the uk there are loads and loads of uk tamiya dealers you can buy from

Welcome...Welcome to rip off Britain!!!

You will struggle to get good prices on models here, the cheapest can be found on ebay and sometimes at model shows. Buying direct from Japan is still the cheapest option even after shipping. I keep telling everyone that the price you can pay for kits at Hobby Search and HLJ is actually cheaper than the UK retailers pay for wholesale The prime example is the Tamiya Enzo which can be purchased for around £14 direct from Japan. Here you will pay around £35 and has seen priced at as much as £45

Further more, there is very little chance you will anything other than Tamiya, Revell, Italleri and a few Hasegawa kits here. Aoshima and Fujimi kits are not imported here so direct purchasing is the only option unless you want to pay the prices a few UK ebayers charge for the ones they buy in.

MR Models in Bearwood stock Tamiya acrylics, I won't bother going there for much else though coz their prices are quite high. DNB Models in Brierly Hill is another one around your neck of the woods, they have the paints and usually a good selection of Tamiya kits in stock at normal UK prices.
