Possible carb setup
My 2 bro's have been talking me into keep the 1.3 DX instead of getting a VTi, and changing the engine with a ZC , they said to start with i could change the main engine and gearbox and use the carb setup i have if it will fit, if not i may be able to fit the carbs off a 2.0 twin carb prelude if the single carb isnt man enough for it, becaus ei can get a custom inlet manifold made up VERY cheap from a Bri's friend
I would of course change it to injection eventually because i could run CAI and a lot more power but would this motor run ok with a similar setup ??? Cheerz Jim

Some JDM ZCs came with twin-carbs, but they usually only pumped 115bhp not 130 I think. Best bet is tracking down a Jackson Racing Webber manifold and then bolting up twin 45mm Webbers
![]() But I'd just wire in the PGMFi if it was up to me I don't think the Accord/'lude twin keihin setup matches the ZC head.

Over here, about 400-600 bucks Aussie - halve that for greenbacks and NFI for pounds
You'll prolly need to choke them to 40mm and run a gasket kit through them, but it's a good option. I ran them on an EW2 12 valve motor bolted into a first gen Civic. Thirsty buggers though and noisy as all hell sitting against the firewall. Hell, even the twin Dell Orto's I ran on an EB3/EN1 hybrid motor were noisy and they were only 35mm throttles.

how long do u think it would take to do a complete swap including wiring loom, and everything to change from my 1.3 carb to a 1.6 injection, if i already had the ZC ripped out of another car

Front cut to car - if you had all the reference points for ancilleries and used the existing ZC loom - I'd say 3 days tops, but 48 hours would be a good run at it to make sure you got it all right the first time

Yep - personally I'd reef the GL loom completely and drop the Si loom in its place. Keep it simple and straightforward by sitting the cars next to each other if you can

I just planted the ZC SOHC dual carb engine from a '93 'tegra into my 4G4D after throwing out the D15B3 (single carb, exact specs as USA DX model).
I have to tell you, although they say the dual carb engine is "only" 112-115 HP, if you tune the carbs right, you could easily get to 120+HP. Before doing stuff like a cam, compression, headers and exhaust system. My D15B3 was not standard by any means, but this ZC, even as standard, promises a lot more fun. I can't wait to start playing. (I have a thing about SOHC's and carbs, like to prove their worth...) Of course, everyone knows about Bizi Ezerioha, of Bizimoto, the NHRA import dragger with the "fastest all motor honda in the world" - it's a 1500 8 valve dual carb unibody CRX. impressive... |
