02 Monte Carlo SS Security light On

I have an 02 Monte Carlo SS. I have an aftermarket remote start on it (clifford)
While im driving the security comes on and the headlights flicker for about 2 seconds. Ive never had any problems with the car not starting or the radio locking. Every time i shut the car off it takes about 10-15 minutes for the security light to come on. Any Ideas? Car drives fine with the security light on.

Re: 02 Monte Carlo SS Security light On

Re-check all the wiring from the aftermarket alarm/remote installation. Most of the "professional" installers use crimp connectors and have never even SEEN a solder iron, let alone used one. These connections tend to corrode and get resistive after a few years - Just about the time any extended warranty on these systems has long since expired. These "professional" aftermarket installations often come back to rear their ugly heads in this manner.

Many of the signals in the PassLock system are extremely low level and sensitive to resistive connections. It would also be a good idea to scan the BCM for trouble codes to help isolate an area to start the search.
