11 different races tonight! LONG!

On my way to and from 2Fast2Furious I saw/participated in some impressive races. Oh, by the way, I was in my fathers C5 Corvette(for those of you who know, my cars are gone gone away). Alright, the amount of racing too and from the theater was LUDACRIS. These are just the races that I can remember b/c I was either involved in them or following close behind. Keep in mind, the theater we went to was about 40 minutes from my house(where we all met up), so there was plenty of time to have some fun!

Race 1: Turbo SI vs. Supercharged SI
The turbo SI driver/owner is a close friend of mine and the car is our baby. His boost was right at 18lbs tonight, so the SC'd SI driver, another friend of mine, didn't have a chance, hehe. From a roll, the SI had him from start to finish by about 8+ lengths I would wager, by about 100. Pretty much a blowout.

Race 2: Turbo SI vs. C5(me)
The same SI as above raced me in the C5. Went from a 50mph roll. He let me go first(how generous of him), and I took off in second, getting the jump on him obviously. By the middle of third he had passed me up and was gaining steadily. Cut things off at around 105 with him ahead by about 4 or 5. Once again, a blowout basically.

Race 3: Gixxer1k vs. C5(me)
Went from a 60mph roll. I was in third and went first again. Surprisingly(to me anyways), I wasn't that far behind we we slowed down at about 90-95. He had about two and a half or so. Maybe he wasn't pushing it as hard as he could have, because I was expecting an extreme waxing, lol.

Race 4: Supra TT vs. M3
The Supra is a BPU+ if I'm not mistaken, the M3 was stock I believe. Not sure what the starting speeds were, but the Supra was ahead by the end of the race. Don't know how fast they were running at the end either. I went to a tad over 100 just following them, and they were both still pulling away at a pretty quick rate.

Race 5: Supra TT vs. C5(me)
Yet ANOTHER loss for me, lol. Started at 40mph, I went first again. I started off in 2nd and stayed ahead through 2nd, and then most of third. He pulled even with me when I was right near the top of my 3rd gear. As I shifted into 4th he pulled ahead slightly and then kept gaining slowly through 4th. By 110 he was up by about 3 cars.

Race 6: Supercharged SI vs. C5(me)
Finally a VICTORY! Hah, by this time I was getting tired of losing so I had to pick on someone I knew I could beat(lol, just kidding). I went first from a 60mph roll(he said that would put him in his sweet spot), and had him through third, where I picked up about 3 lengths, and then through half of fourth, where I picked up another couple cars and shut things down at 100ish.

Race 7: Turbo GSR vs. Supercharged SI
This was actually one of the better races. The turbo GSR is a nice car, but the boost is set low, the guy who owns it is still getting used to it so he claims, and therefore doesn't know how to drive it all that well. They went from about a 30mph roll and the SI took off hard on the Teg. I had my money on the SI to begin with and I wasn't too surprised to see him winning the first half of the race. At around ~70 though, the GSR pulled quickly up next to the SI and then began to walk away. At ~85 it looked like the SI hit a brick wall or something though and the GSR was up by ~3 cars at he end.

Race 8: Turbo LS vs. LS1 Trans Am
No contest here. The modded LS1 went far faarr faaarrrrr away from the LS in a hurry. Not much else to it.

Race 9: Turbo LT1 Z28 vs. Z06
Unfortunately, I was a little ways back when this one went down and don't have many details. The LT1 won though, and from the way they were talking about it later, I'm guessing he cleaned him up pretty well. It's an extremely impressive vehicle and was the quickest car in the whole group I'm pretty sure.

Race 10: Z06 vs. Supra TT
Another good one. Dead even from about 50mph to 100mph, when the Z06 sloooowwwlllyyy started to make some headway. Afterwards they were saying that they were nearing 130mph(crazy mofo's).

Race 11: LS1 Trans Am vs. SC Mustang GT
These two are friends and they race constantly. The wins go back and fourth. Tonight the GT took the "checkered flag". I was right behind them the whole way, starting at ~55mp, and by about 105-110, the GT had a car and a half.

Whew! Extreme fun out there tonight! And the movie wasn't all that horrible eiter, heheh. You shoulda came with us Devil!!

40 min from the movie -- lucky, i was about 10 and the amount of cops were prolly in the hundreds within a 20 mi radius of the theatre because they had a car show right there too. it was pretty good, lotta imports and cars with hydraulics. too bad it wasn't organized better so there would be BETTER cars there, i only seen about 15 or 20 completely decked out hondas.

btw i really did like the movie... this one actually had some content in it.

GOD DAMN IT. Oh well I couldn't anyways my whole day was filled up with shit to do. I got to see my fair share of races too though around 8:30 I went up to Old Dominion to watch. There was a good looking Acura Integra up there red with black wheels and I think it was turbocharged. I'm pretty sure I saw one of those boost controller thing-ama-jigs. It's bracket racing and he ended up beating a decked out S-10 (lime green, huge slicks probably big V8 under that thing, beautiful), but lost to a 35th Anniversary Camaro SS by a good distance.

I echo Redneck's sentiments. There's no cool cars like that around here to race, much less all in one evening. I'm jealous of you yet again, Self...

Hah, 18lbs? A good amount, but not a crazy amount. With 115oc he sets it to 24lbs, and a boost spike will see him hit 26.5lbs Ahh man, I forgot you were out around this way. You could have definitely came along. The only person I could think of who was near was Devil.

Yea, agreed. There were a few strangers in the group. It was a huuggee group of cars and bikes on the way there. Over 30 total. That's when most of the races I described took place, on the way there. On the way back it was like 3 different groups, because some people left immediately and some of us hung around a chill spot out in Arundel, where the theater was. The guy who owned the modded TA(the first one in my original post, who raced the LS), was a "stranger". We saw him rolling along on the way back and the LS took a shot at him and got embarrassed. Another of our friends Chez, raced the TA on his modded Daytona 748i. I was a ways back on that one though. All I know is that the bike won. But you're right, it would have been more fun if more strangers would have played with us, hehe. Oh well! I guess they were all scared stiff of us!

Haha, quite a dilema you have there. Don't go by the race I talked about though, the Turbo SI is a unique case. It's an amazing vehicle. Although it's not mine, it almost is, I treat it like it is. We do all of the work to it ourselves and have been putting time and money into it for years now.
As for your car, I would say turbo for one reason only...When doing a custom FI setup, you have to think about space and placement. With a supercharger you are a BIT more restricted because of the belt routing required. With a turbo you only have to worry about piping, where as with the SC you have to look out for both piping and belts. Both however, have their strengths and weaknesses, and they have been discussed here and in other forums more times than I care to remember
