Shift Light

I wanna place a shift light on the side of my dashboard.

but so far the only i's i have seen are the autometer ones but thet are bout $350, i think a rip off!

do hks, apexi or other make any shift lights, how much and where can i get em from??

What I was looking at doing is having a VX GTS Style Shift Light that is basically just a RED LED built in to the center top of dash with possibly a couple of amber lights that turn on per 1000rpm to let you know roughly where u are in the heat of the moment.

It would look better than a big dicky tacho...

Then again i don't like big body kits or big wheels i like the SLEEPER Look.... Far more affective.

i dont want the big ass tacho either, just a nice size shift light

I was in exactly the same boat as you were... I drive two different cars, so it's hard for me to intuitively "know" when to change gears... I found myself hitting the revlimiter in the R33 now and again, and it annoyed me...

Like you, I didn't want a big ass tacho, but I *did* like the look of the shift light that comes with them...

On www.takakaira.com, there is a Pivot Shift light that is about 0.8" diameter, filled with a BIG FAT RED LED, which is pretty much the same as those Autometer ones... but it's only like an inch long, and you don't need to have a big ass tacho or swap pills on it...

Then on the drop down combo box at the top, select "Racing Timing Lamp"...

I've ordered it, and it's on it's way to me as we speak via UPS, so I can't give you a report on how good it is, but it's Pivot... an extortionally expensive Jap brand, so it must be good

Wouldn't a tach with the redline tell you so much more? Besides, tachs are cooler than the lights.

already got the standard dash! and i got 2 gauges on the a pillar and with 1 of those big ass tachs there is no room on that side!!

thats why i only want the shift light!
