woohooo! got me a new clutch

i was wondering if japanese spec primeras use the same clutch as the g20. this is why, as u might have read before my clutch was going on my leased 2000 g. Since my little bro had a lot to do with it ,he auto xed it a couple times and took it to the track on occasions , he was going to pay for a new clutch. My dilema was the i didn't want a hi-po clutch cause of my bad experiences with clutch masters on my ga16de sentra. The price of a stock clutch from nissan was like 500bucks and infiniti, wanted like 800 bucks! oofffa remeber it's the same clutch as the b15 but what a diffrence the infiniti name makes. Well anyway my mechanic ordered a primera clutch from japan and i got the job done for 500 bucks including the clutch. Let me tell you this thing is about 30% lighter than the original. Engagement is a little more abrupt but still very good. Well he told me to take it easy for a couple hundered miles so that it wouldn't develop hot spots,,,whatever that is. So of course i ripped it up out of his shop and when i slammed second it chirpped , big time. So i stayed on it and when i shifted to third guess what, it chirped again,a very small chirp but a chirp nonetheless. I dont know about you guys but this is the first time my car ever did that. I am so impressed with this clutch and to think it's oem somewhere else in the world.

Next stop - gearbox.

I also find the JDM clutch engagement a little sudden. It lets you know alright when you don't have the revs well matched.

My clutch is hydraulically operated - do the U.S. cars have cable or hydraulic clutch operation?
