My next project: 1/8 Pocher F40 with photoetch kit

No, I haven't finished my 1:24 Enzo yet. I've just been soo lazy

I figured I'd put this here because this kit will require heavy assembly and modification. However, the exterior body panels are diecast and pre-painted, but most of the model requires painting and assembly.

There are only 6 left out of 200 transkits, I put down a deposit for one as I don't have the necessary funds at the moment.

http://www.scaleautoworks.com/f40transkitphotos.htm

"An amazing set of parts to superdetail your Pocher F40 kit. Includes almost every nut, bolt, bushing, hose, braided line, clamp, and fitting as on the real car: over 1400 photo-etched pieces on nine 9"x12" plates [see below]; machined aluminum OZ wheels; Sabelt 4-point racing harness with metal hardware; cast metal ducts and accessories; carbon fiber decals for all tub and body interior surfaces; a complete reprint of the original Pocher decals makes disassembling a previously built model a realistic alternative to needing a new Pocher kit;117 color detail photos of the kit in progress and the real car; and factory assembly diagrams for the 1:1 car for reference. Thousands of new parts, almost 9 lbs of materials, serial numbered and limited to 200 total sets (approximately 75 remaining). Probably worth the money even if you use only half the parts included. Complete assembly requires some painting, soldering, and modification of most Pocher kit pieces."

How it should look when finished:

This is going to be one hell of a challenge, folks... :ylsuper

You can say that again. I am forced (yes, forced, that is how bad I want this) to sell many of my 1:43 BBRs.

I wonder if Scaleautoworks copied the Autograph etch set that was available several years ago? A friend of mine bought one, it was amazing.

Good Luck with it!

Brady the owner of Scale Autoworks, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and his business is very well run. Definitely a guy you can trust.!

I built the "engine only" kit awhile back. Amazing detail stock.

I believe this is the Autograph kit, I could ask Brady if there were different versions.

Only way I'd pay that much for a model kit is if the damn thing actually ran.

1/8th scale working turbos, 1/8th scale working V8, etc.

it would be nice if the engine worked and you could rev it and it'd sound like a real F40, but really, what's the point? it's not like you'd be able to feel the acceleration or cornering ability
