97 Ford Taurus GL stalls in 100 degree weather

My 97 Ford Taurus GL started a new problem the other day...The weather was 100 degrees and the car started to constantly stall when brought back to idle...I had to keep restarting it which was hard to keep giving it throttle to keep from stalling again..I never had this problem in lower temperatures..The weather cooled off and it has not done it since...Does anyone know of the answer to this problem???
