2005 gtp lose of brakes

I was driving yesterday and noticed when i press the brakes the car tries to stop but then the pedal starts fading away and goes all the way back i tried pumping several times its even verse. I checked the fluid level looks normal no abs light what can this be. I have fairly new brakes in the front and old ones needed to be changed. I was shocked good thing i was not going fast. This happened after a an hour of driving and it was very hot in NY about 95 degrees. Please gide me in the right direction. I left the car home today did not want to take a chance driving it. Feels like a loss of pressure.

I understand that you're probably looking for DIY advice on this; if you decide to work with a dealership, please let me know as I would like to be available to assist in whatever way I can.

If the pedal goes to the floor, and you are sure there is no fluid leak, then you have a bad master cylinder. Need to have the brake system checked for leaks, living in New York its very possible you have a rusted through brake line.

Absolutely do not drive the vehicle......As GMtech1 said, if there are no EXTERNAL LEAKS, then it's probably a bad master cylinder

My experience is that you get what you pay for when it comes to master cylinders. I like to compare brake parts to a motorcycle helmet. If you have a 10 dollar head, buy a 10 dollar helmet! Get the OEM master.

GMtech1, can I borrow this one:

If you have a 10 dollar head, buy a 10 dollar helmet!
